Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it. He held it up for all to see & asked the students,
"How much do you think this glass weighs?"
'50gms!' ..... '100gms!' .....'125gms' ...the students answered.
"I really don't know unless I weigh it," said the professor, "but, my question is:
What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?"
'Nothing' ..the students said.
'Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?' the professor asked.
'Your arm would begin to ache' said one of the student
"You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?"
"Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis & have to go to hospital for sure!"
.. ventured another student & all the students laughed
"Very good.
But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?"
asked the professor.
'No'. Was the answer.
"Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?"
The students were puzzled.
"What should I do now to come out of pain?" asked professor again.
"Put the glass down!" said one of the students
"Exactly!" said the professor.
Life's problems are something like this.
Hold it for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK.
Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache.
Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything.
It's important to think of the challenges or problems in your life,
But EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to 'PUT THEM DOWN' at the end of every day before You go to sleep..
That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh & strong & can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!
So, when you leave office today,
Remember to 'PUT THE GLASS DOWN TODAY! '

For the people who wish to move to Testing Platform from different specializations
Now a days I have observed most of the friends showing up interest to grow their careers in Testing platform even if they have got masters degree in different specializations. Obviously it's gud decision to come into Testing, becoz the person who had done his degree in a networking specialization(for example), is entering into network testing he can easily test as he can understand the network concepts easily than a Non IT person which avoids the confusion and mistakes in testing.
In this post i would like to explain the following story which tells how a person should think logically who wish to grow up their career in the field of testing.
A university scholar, Mr. Sam approaches his friend a software-testing guru telling him that he has a Bachelor in programming, and now would like to learn the software testing to complete his knowledge and to find a job as a software tester. After summing him up for a few minutes, the software-testing guru told him "I seriously doubt that you are ready to study software testing. It's the serious topic. If you wish however I am willing to examine you in logic, and if you pass the test I will help teach you software testing. "
The young man agrees. Software testing guru holds up two fingers "Two men come down a chimney.
One comes with a clean face and the other comes out with a dirty face.
Which one washes his face?
The young man stares at the software-testing guru. "Is that a test in Logic?" software testing guru nods.
"The one with the dirty face washes his face," He answers wearily.
"Wrong. The one with the clean face washes his face. Examine the simple logic. The one with the dirty face looks at the one with the clean face and thinks his face is clean. The one with the clean face looks at the one with the dirty face and thinks his face is dirty. So; the one with the clean face washes his face."
"Very clever" Says Sam. "Give me another test"
The software-testing guru again holds up two fingers "Two men come down a chimney. One comes out with a clean face and the other comes out with a dirty face. Which one washes his face?
"We have already established that. The one with the clean face washes his face"
"Wrong. Each one washes his face. Examine the simple logic. The one with the dirty face looks at the one with the clean face and thinks his face is clean. The one with the clean face looks at the one with the dirty face and thinks his face is dirty. So; the one with the clean face washes his face. When the one with the dirty face sees the one with the clean face washing his face, he also washes his face. So each one washes his face"
"I didn't think of that!" Says Sam. " It's shocking to me that I could make an error in logic. Test me again!."
The software-testing guru holds up two fingers "Two men come down a chimney. One comes out with a clean face and the other comes out with a dirty face. Which one washes his face?
"Each one washes his face"
"Wrong. Neither one washes his face. Examine the simple logic. The one with the dirty face looks at the one with the clean face and thinks his face is clean. The one with the clean face looks at the one with the dirty face and thinks his face is dirty. But when the one with clean face sees that the one with the dirty face doesn't wash his face, he also doesn't wash his face So neither one washes his face".
Sam is desperate. "I am qualified to study software testing. Please give me one more test"
He groans when the software-testing guru lifts his two fingers, "Two men come down a chimney. One comes out with a clean face and the other comes out with a dirty face. Which one washes his face?
"Neither one washes his face"
"Wrong. Do you now see, Sam, why programming knowledge is an insufficient basis for studying the software testing? Tell me, how is it possible for two men to come down the same chimney, and for one to come out with a clean face and the other with a dirty face? Don't you see?
Requirements for testers will look the same but expectations from clients will vary every now and then...
So Guys... I hope you understood how u should think logically to grow up in a Testing field :)

Role of Software Tester in Software Industry
A Software Tester plays Major Role in the Software Industry.
Everyone thinks that software testing can be done by any person who thinks laterally. But why do organizations recruit people for testing applications by conducting several rounds of interview and why not a person who has completed an higher school?
Well here is the answer. Any person who has brain can test the software applications but only few can test the applications by logical thinking and the people who has a gud IQ.
Here comes the main role of a software tester.
In the present globalizing world man is making everything as easy that even in sleep his dreams are getting managed :)
Everything in the current world is making use of software. If a tester is unconscious while testing the software may lead to a big crap and also lead to loss of lives.
If we consider a real scenario, a tester who is working in health care domain is not concentrating properly while testing the application may keep few lives in danger.
Let me explain you how this happens.
Let us consider that depending upon the details of disease of the patient, the amount of medication to be given is calculated. And if a minor change in details changes the medication details, then obviously improper medication will be given to the patient. And as a tester, if we skip even a minor defect in the reports, then the patient life will be in risk.
It is the tester who confirms that whether the built in product can be released as a quality product without any defects which meets customer satisfaction.
Soo Guys..... Never under estimate a tester
